Denise Dantas, singer, actress, and TV host hails from Salvador de Bahia in North-eastern Brazil. She is going to introduce her project Sons do Brasil (Sounds of Brazil), born from her collaboration with musicians from Brazil, Italy, and Slovenia. Her set features Brazilian folk music and original songs that combine elements of jazz and Balkan music.
In the one-and-a-half hour set, Denise uses her open-ended energy on stage to bring us all the colours and diversity of her land. Her performances are a surprisingly intimate, lively, and fun musical and social experience. This is our best chance to take in the primal beat of Brazilian music and the endless variety of its shapes and colours.
