Kampec Dolores (HUN)

music | concert

When the music is the intelligence of mind and body and the moment coming true is pure magic of something that cannot be put into words.

The music of this multi-cultural jazz and ethno music ensemble is a unique imaginary fusion of original melodies, surrealistic lyrics, and hidden broken rhythms that lean towards jazz basics, all wrapped up in folk music from many real and fictional lands. These legendary Hungarian musicians introduced Eastern Europe to jazz and are pioneers of always new and rising music, growing more in touch with each other year after year and in touch with everyone close enough to hear their music.

Kampec Dolores have been the most successful Hungarian band since the 1960’s and placed themselves firmly on the European music map by opening for Nico’s first concert in Budapest in 1985.

The band began as a new wave and post-punk act that dominated the 1980’s and has since evolved under the influence of ethno and avant-garde music, including pure improv. When the music is the intelligence of mind and body and the moment coming true is pure magic of something that cannot be put into words.
