The Miceks (CRO)

music | concert

The Miceks are bringing to Maribor their unplugged set, but there will be no shortage of hard sounds of real life, criticism of society, and love – something we neglect to consume all too often according to the band members.

Inspired by Oasis, Primal Scream and Pips Chips and Video Clips, the Miceks appeared like a bright and burning meteor on the Croatian rock sky, easy on the ears and good for the heart and body. They are beyond any doubt one of the best bands to appear on the scene in the entire region in recent years.

The legendary Croatian guitar player Alen Kraljić – Kralja is staging a comeback on the rock music scene with a completely new band The Miceks (‘micek’ means ‘friend’ in the Zagreb dialect). The broader rock audience first met Kralja through his involvement in the Croatian super-band Pips Chips and Video Clips, where he fine-tuned his music any lyrics-writing talents. Kralja built his reputation as an indestructible rocker in other well-known bands such as Hard Time, Majke, Bare i Plaćenici, The Sale of Joy and Cirkus. Kralja is joined on stage by four young, yet fully-formed musicians, who have excellent chemistry with their stage leader.

The Miceks are bringing to Maribor their unplugged set, but there will be no shortage of hard sounds of real life, criticism of society, and love – something we neglect to consume all too often according to the band members.

Only coincidence would have it that Majke, one of Kralja’s former bands, appear at Festival Lent on the very same day.
