Trio Amicus

Trio Amicus are three ladies from Ajdovščina Vinko Vodopivec Music School and Nova Gorica Music School. Flutists Katarina Lozar from Podkraj and Eva Faganelj from Šempeter pri Gorici are students of Professor Armando Mariutti, whereas pianist Ema Gregorčič is in the class of Professor Ana Knez at Ajdovščina Music School. The trio play under the mentorship of Professor Armando Mariutti. Trio Amicus regularly take part in various music competitions. In 2017 the ladies took part in two competitions, earning 1^st prize in both: Svirel International Music Competition, and an international competition in Serbia where they scored 100 points and won the grand prize. This year they won the gold prize and 1^st place at the national music competition TEMSIG and appeared in the final concert of competition winners in Ljubljana.

Valentin Novak

Valentin Novak (2001) began playing the guitar at the age of six with Professor Stojan Kralj, and later moved on to study with Professor Zdravko Rumpf at the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet. Valentin took part in numerous national and international guitar competitions and won a series of awards and prizes: Mörski Guitar Festival (bronze and three gold prizes), Krško Guitar Days (2012 and 2013, 1^st prize and gold award; 2016 2^nd prize), TEMSIG 2011 (gold award in guitar), 2014 (1^st prize and gold award as guitar duet with his sister Katja Veronika), 2015 (2^nd prize in guitar, gold award), 2017 (gold award as guitar duet with his sister Katja Veronika), 2018 (1^st prize in guitar and gold award, 2^nd prize in contrabass and gold award), Guitar Art Festival Beograd 2013 (3^rd prize), Porečki tirando 2014 (1^st prize and 2^nd place), Premio Enrico Mercatali (Concorso Europeo di Ghitarra Classica Gorica, Italy - 2015 gold award and 3^rd prize; 2017 ‘Premio assoluto’ award), Andres Segovia International Guitar Youth Competition, and Monheim/Rhein, Germany, 2016 (‘Very Good Participant’ award). He took additional training by attending seminars with renowned guitar masters such as Ante Čagalj, Marko Feri, Sanja Plohl, Damjan Stanišić, Vera Ogrizović, Xhevdeth Sahatxhija, Paolo Pegoraro, and Istvan Römer. He is currently in the 3^rd year at the art high school of the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet in the class of Professor Vojko Vešligaj and in the 3^rd year of contrabass with Professor Božidar Kovačič. Valentin is a member of the guitar, accordion, string and symphony orchestra of the Maribor Conservatory.

Mirjam Strlič

Mirjam Strlič graduated in 2002 from the Ljubljana Music Academy in the class of Professor Aci Bertoncelj. During her studies she earned may awards and recognitions at regional and national competitions, with the most prominent achievement coming in the 2011 national competition where she earned the award for best performance with her rendition of a piece by Slovenian author J. Matičič. Mirjam took part in various piano seminars with V. Lobanov, O. Maisenberg, K. Bogin, and A. Valdma. As part of a student exchange programme, she took additional training at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. Mirjam played with renowned Slovenian music artists in various chamber ensembles. She most often appeared in a duo alongside cellist Gorazd Strlič. Mirjam is a professor and repetiteur at the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet.
