The studio of Radio You’re Up will host a debate on the dire situation in Palestine, featuring guests who will help enlighten us on what is happening in the country and what we can do to make a change for the better. We will also breach the issue of why Slovenia, as a fairly young country, was not able or willing to recognize Palestine as an independent country, even though nations all across the globe have mustered the will to do it – all but the U.S. and Europe. The guest of the talk show will be journalist Boris Vasev and other experts and pundits with knowledge of the issue. The podcast will be recorded in front of a live studio audience, starting at 17:00. Join us live in studio. You can download the podcast on the next day from our website at gt22.si.

18.00 - Špela Senica - Au

We continue our programme with the spoken word by hosting the event Slam Poetry Maribor-Graz at 19:00. Slam Beasts are a team of slam poetesses and poets, who’ve been active in Maribor since 2016 and host regular monthly events called Ožuljeni Jezik (‘Blistering Tongue’). Joining them for this special event at GT22 will be the slam poets from Graz in a NBD project of international slamming in pairs! Poetesses and poets will perform in mixed pairs Maribor-Graz, whereby each member of the pair will recite his/her poem and the poem of his/her partner translated into his/her mother tongue. The audience gets to choose their favourite pair, who will be declared the winning international pair of the night. How will the slammerettes and slammers interpret the poems of their Grazer counterparts and how will the Austrian poets fare when faced with Maribor-based topics? No one will know until we see it happen live and in person, but we do know that we’re in for a very fun and most poetic event. The evening will be hosted – as are all events organized by the Beasts – by Mojca Pibernik, the most likeable host in Slovenia and member of the improv group Banda Frdamana.
