An evening of musical journey with the Police orchestra under the blue baton in an idyllic green atmosphere.
The Police orchestra has been building its rich tradition and a name as a world-class Slovenian brass band since 1948. The dedicated work of all members of the orchestra and other members of the Slovenian police force and their followers created a rich tradition and established the Police orchestra as a world-class brass ensemble both at home and abroad. In line with the aim for which the orchestra was created and the course of its development, it became natural in the post-independence era for the orchestra to appear at state protocol events.
The Slovenian government therefore appointed the Police orchestra in 1994 as the official orchestra for protocol events of the Republic of Slovenia. The orchestra regularly appears in concert and plays for the police force and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. The orchestra’s endeavours connect the Slovenian police and Slovenian citizens, with the orchestra cooperating with cultural associations at home and abroad, and performing with recognized foreign and Slovenian conductors, soloists and choirs. The musical journey this evening will be taken under the blue baton of maestro Nejc Bečan and topped up by opera singer Irena Yebuah Tiran.
Allow us to invite you to the promenade in front of the stage on the day of the concert, where you will be able to see an exhibition marking the 70th anniversary of the Police Museum. Guided tours of the exhibition will be held at 16:00 with custodian and head of the Police Museum Darinka Kolar Osvald.
