Jazz Podium 2: Marko Črnčec & gostje

Črnčec is the star guest of the 2018 Jazz Podium, a 3-day project at Festival Lent, where he will appear on three different stages.

Marko Črnčec is one of the most renowned contemporary music artists. He lives and creates in New York City. On the international scene, Črnčec is known as an artist versed in multiple instruments, a composer, music arranger and producer, whose primary focus are jazz and popular music.

Črnčec is the star guest of the 2018 Jazz Podium, a 3-day project at Festival Lent, where he will appear on three different stages. One of these gigs will be a solo performance: just him and his piano. No matter how common concerts of this kind are in the world of classical music, in the jazz world, which is based, first and foremost, on the interaction with fellow musicians and the audience, a solo performance is born only of vast experience; it is the result of distilling piano playing techniques, compositions and improvisation – and usually born from the musician’s innermost needs and desires. The scarcity of these concerts makes them all the more special, whereby Črnčec has promised (yet refused to reveal) special guests to share with what a true pianist considers to be the most intimate moments.
