Joker Out hail from Ljubljana’s Bežigrad neighbourhood with a touch of Vrhnika. When looking for a sound to call their own, they found out they already had one – an authentic mixture of this and that or what Slovenian girls once called ‘Shaggadelic rock n’ roll’. Goran Bare righted his course of pristine rock’n’roll back onto familiar roads. After seven years we can again enjoy a new and amazing album. Lucky for us, the Croatian band decided to present their sixth studio album entitled Nuspojave (‘Side effects’) at Festival Lent.

JOKER OUT

Joker Out hail from Ljubljana’s Bežigrad neighbourhood with a touch of Vrhnika. When looking for a sound to call their own, they found out they already had one – an authentic mixture of this and that or what Slovenian girls once called ‘Shaggadelic rock n’ roll’.

Joker Out play Slovenian music.

The band appears in concerts across Slovenia and often opens for the biggest names in Slovenian rock n’ roll (Big foot mama, Hamo & Tribute 2 love).

Joker Out have recorded two studio singles (Kot srce, ki kri poganja; Omamljeno telo) and shot a video for both. They are hard at work writing original music and expect to release their first studio album at the end of 2018.

Joker Out won the biggest high school band contest ‘Špil Liga 2016/17’, and shared the stage with legendary Slovenian artists, such as Big Foot Mama, Siddharta, Peter Lovšin, Hamo & Tribute 2 love, and Omar Naber. They were the opening act at the Ritem mladosti event at Stožice, Slovenia’s largest venue, played other large venues in Slovenia, and had their single Omamljeno telo voted as Hit of the Week by the radio station Val 202.

GORAN BARE & MAJKE (CRO)

It’s been seven years since we could last enjoy an excellent music project of the indestructible Goran Bare and his band Majke. The album Težke boje was a great success and the hit single of the same name steered the band on near-collision course with mainstream. Luckily, Goran Bare righted his course of pristine rock’n’roll back onto familiar roads. After seven years we can again enjoy a new and amazing album. Lucky for us, the Croatian band decided to present their sixth studio album entitled Nuspojave (‘Side effects’) at Festival Lent.

Seven years after the Porin award-winning album Teške boje, Nuspojave again received rave reviews from the most prominent Croatian music critics, earning nothing but praise and already being referred to as one of the most impressive music pieces of Bare’s poetic oeuvre. The second single entitled Ljubav krvari has just hit Croatian radio waves.

The album was recorded in the Novo Mesto-based studio RSL and features, aside from Bare, all members of Majke – Kruno Domaćinović, Davor Rodik, Alen Tibljaš, Berislav Blažević and bass player Mario Rašić, who also produced the album.

As a poet, Bare was long before known for digging through the darkest backwoods of his soul that only rarely see the light of happiness. He speaks of his relationship with love and addiction, man and god, the individual and society, and of the ups and downs of his amazing life that often stepped over the line of plausibility. Even in this context, ‘Nuspojave’ are one of the most impressive music pieces in his poetic oeuvre.”
