Seine ● Lynch

You can consume Seine’s music a story of a punk-rocker dressed in folk’s clothing, or as a sensuous folk album filled with the spirit of punk. Lynch are a stage-tested quartet of young and amped, guitar band-fed fellas, who know their ABC’s and XYZ’s of string combos, bringing their guitar acrobatics into a setting far removed from traditional rock music.

SEINE

Seine was founded by Ivan Ščapec way back in 2007, but the act only earned the recognition it deserves in 2015 after Šcapec’s first band Vlasta Popić had disbanded. Seine soon grew from a solo project into a full-fledged band featuring drums, bass, and guitar, and won the Banja Luka Demo Fest in 2016. Following their appearance at the 2017 Ljubljana MENT Festival, the band signed with Moonlee Records and released their excellent first single Sno Sna. The song features a dreamy string sequence played by Ivan on his acoustic guitar, psychoactive bass lines and minimalist, yet always powerful drum lines, telling a story of love and longing.

The unique colour of Ivan’s voice pierces our ears and hearts, a voice of nearly female character reminiscent of the band Cigarettes After Sex. The pathos of vocal articulation also draws associations to emo pioneers Sunny Day Real Estate, but the essence of Seine’s musical expression lies in the sound of acoustic guitar and the introspective, often melancholic spirit of the mid-1990’s.

LYNCH

Lynch are a stage-tested quartet of young and amped, guitar band-fed fellas, who know their ABC’s and XYZ’s of string combos, bringing their guitar acrobatics into a setting far removed from traditional rock music. Their ever-daring renditions of guitar music genres come alive on stage, giving your mind the pleasant-yet-buzzing shock of mounted horses and hoofs ringing with the sound of amps in distortion.

In 2017, Lynch appeared in the Slovenian showcase festival MENT and were part of the Club Marathon of the radio station Radio Študent. In 2018, they were chosen to appear at the Tallinn Music Week, one of the largest showcase festivals in Europe. Their song Horseabout reached second place on the Croatian regional music chart Muzika je Zvonko Radost.
